About Us
Masjid-us-Sunnah is a small masjid in size but a big one in its aspiration. Because of its position adjacent to the universities, colleges and the Leicester Royal Infirmary, Masjid-us-Sunnah aims to become a focal point for the Islamic Da’wah in Leicester, particularly among the students and the local population. Since its establishment in 1988, it has been the centre for various religious and social functions and programmes.
Our main objectives are to
- Revive and propagate the authentic Prophet’s Sunnah (Prophetic Methodology)
- Educate Muslims according to the Holly Quran and the authentic hadiths of Allah’s Messenger Salla Allahu Alayhi Wasallam (SAAW)
- Encourage the Invitation to Islam (Da’wah) with wisdom, good instruction, and argument in a way that is best
- Advance the self-confidence within the Muslim Community
- Promote tolerance and harmony amongst the Leicester population as a multicultural city.
There are two Charities allied to Masjid-us-Sunnah. These are:
- Muslim Welfare House Leicester MWHL. It is part of a National Charity; Muslim Welfare House UK based in London. MWHL manages the finance and maintenance of the building, accommodation and general education aspects.
- Leicester Community Assist LCA. It is a Charity based in Leicester and manages the finance and maintenance of the worship, Islamic education and Eid Festival aspects.
