Beginning:
Masjid-us-Sunnah Leicester was established in February 2013. Originally and for about 10 years, it was based at 176 Welford Road LE2 6Bd. However, in August 2023, the Masjid moved temporarily to 19 Hylion Road Leicester LE2 6GP.
We are currently looking for a new and more suitable premises to establish our new Masjid-us-Sunnah Leicester permanently.
The daily administration of Masjid-us-Sunnah involves a charity organisation; namely, Leicester Community Assist (LCA), Reg. No.: 1166711. In fact, the name Masjid-us-Sunnah Leicester is registered with the UK Charity Commission as the alternative name of LCA.
Because of its position adjacent to the universities, colleges and Royal Infirmary, the Centre has been a focal point for the Islamic Da’wah in Leicester, particularly among the native and foreign students and persons. Masjid-us-Sunnah prides itself for its pioneering Authentic Sunnah Mission or Message (ASM) in Leicester and beyond.
Since its establishment, it has been providing many religious activities including: Taraweeh prayers and Iftar during the month of Ramadhan, Islamic educational circles for both men and women, non-Muslim meetings for introducing Islam as well as various social programmes.
Masjid-us-Sunnah:
Al-Hamdulillah, now, Masjid-us-Sunnah Leicester provides full-blown services including: Five-times daily congregational prayers, Friday Service (Jumu’ah Speech [Khutbah] and Jumu’ah Prayer), Eid Festivals (including Eid Prayer & Eid Speech) in Victoria Park Leicester twice a year, Quran recitation (Tilawah) circles, Lesson from a hadeeth, publication of monthly prayers’ timetables and newsletters, distribution of food to the needy, limited financial assistance to eligible students and other needy people and families as well as many other services.
Since our start, we have been gathering momentum and our main theme is to revive and propagate the Prophet’s Sunnah based on the prophetic authentic hadiths. Masjid-us-Sunnah together with the Eid Prayer and Festival (EPF) and Leicester Community Assist (LCA) makes a wider mission, namely the Authentic Sunnah Message (ASM). Our main aim is to revive, disseminate and educate the public of the principles and practices of the Authentic Sunnah Messages (ASM).
