Suspension of Congregational Prayers at Masjid-us-Sunnah Leicester

Assalamu Alaykum all, To comply with the instructions of the government, health authorities and the Muslim Council of Britain MCB and to participate in the limitation of the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, we at Masjid-us-Sunnah of Leicester have decided to suspend all congregational activities. This includes the circles, the lessons, the daily congregational prayers and the Friday ceremony from Asr prayer’s time tomorrow 20 March 2020 until further notice. The last congregational activity will be tomorrow’s Friday Prayer followed by Asr Prayer combined early. From then onwards until further notice, we shall close the door of the Masjid until the suspension is removed In Sha’a Allah.

However, there will be Athan (call for prayers) at every prayer time. If you would like to hear the Athan for our Masjid please download the App called “My Mosque” from Apple or Google store and when you install it please affiliate with Masjid-us-Sunnah Leicester and activate the voice for the Athan.

Please note that this measure is only a temporary suspension of the Jama’ah prayers in the Masjid. It is NOT cancellation of the Salah or Jama’ah prayers at home. You are still required to do the five daily prayers at home and preferably in Jama’ah with your family. As to the Friday ceremony, please note that we shall have a Friday ceremony tomorrow 20 March 2020 in the Masjid. However, from Friday 27 March 2020 onward, instead of the Friday Ceremony in the Masjid, you are required to pray four Rakaa Dhuhr prayers at home every Friday until the suspension is removed In Sha’a Allah

Please note that no one can abolish or cancel the Salah (prayers) because it is ordered as ‘Fardh’ by Allah SWT who “decides and there is no adjuster of His decision” (Quran, C13 Ar-Ra’d, V41).

Please increase your remembrance of Allah SWT with Tasbeeh, Tahmeed and Takbeer. Make persistent Dua’a seeking forgiveness from your Lord and beg Him for the relief of this pandemic.

May Allah save us all. Ameen.
